Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about our cooking classes and food experiences in Rome.

Booking, cancellation and dietary policy

Can you accommodate dietary requirements?

Gluten: classes with gluten are never adapted to gluten-free, not even for a single portion. Guests with coeliac disease can book our dedicated gluten-free classes (private pasta and tiramisù, private pizza and gelato); in group formats the whole group chooses a gluten-free menu. Pork: every class can be made without pork except the Roman class (carbonara). For example, in the pasta and tiramisù class the amatriciana is made without guanciale and becomes a tomato pasta. Vegetarian and vegan: the carbonara cannot be made vegetarian or vegan, because guanciale is the heart of the dish; vegan adaptations of the other classes require staff approval before booking. Please tell us about any food allergies or dietary needs when booking so we can prepare suitable ingredients.

General questions

What applies to all our cooking classes in Rome: booking, payment, cancellation, dietary needs and more.

Yes. A few minutes after the class you'll get an automatic email with links to the recipes on our blog, covering everything you made in class, dough included. This applies to shared classes and to private classes with a standard menu, including the gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan versions. For a custom menu, off-menu dishes or special requests, ask our staff for the recipes by email. If the email doesn't arrive, message us in the chat or write to our staff.

Classes take place at our school in Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center; private classes can also be held, on request, in a home, a villa or a hotel. The tours have their own meeting points: the market tour starts from Piazza Campo de' Fiori, the food tour from Piazza Mastai, in Trastevere. For directions from Termini, from the airport or by car, ask in the chat or ask our staff.

You'll find the dates, times and prices of every cooking experience in Rome in its booking calendar. You can book on the same day, if there's space, or up to a year ahead. If the date you want is full, write to our staff in the chat or by email: we'll suggest an alternative. Booking directly with us is usually the better deal, because there are no middleman fees.

Water, house white and red wine, soft drinks and, if you'd like one, an espresso are all included. At the end of the class everyone sits down at the table with the dishes you made together, for lunch or dinner. Wine is served without a set number of glasses, always with common sense. In the cooking classes you can also choose a bottle from our cellar, at an extra cost. You can't bring your own wine or cakes, though.

Shared classes are taught in English. If there are just two of you and you both speak French, Spanish or Portuguese, we sometimes adapt when the staff on duty speaks the language, but we can't guarantee it. Private classes are taught in Italian, English or Spanish, whichever the group prefers. And if something isn't clear, we're happy to explain it again.

It depends on which of our cooking classes in Rome you choose: from about an hour and a half for gelato to about four hours for the market tour with the class. First you cook, then you all eat what you've made together, without rushing. Leftovers can't be taken away, though: we're a school and we're not set up for takeaway.

Shared cooking classes in Rome: fresh pasta and tiramisù, carbonara, pizza and gelato, gelato, Spritz and Spaghetti, and the market tour with a class, each one also available as a private class. Then there are two private gluten-free classes, private formats for families, schools, universities and companies, two wine tastings and the Trastevere food tour. We don't run multi-lesson courses, though: each experience stands on its own.

For private classes you need to cancel more than 30 days before, for shared classes more than 14: we refund what you paid minus €30 per booking, for the payment and refund costs that the payment provider keeps. The refund is made by our staff, to the same payment method you used, and arrives within 5-10 business days. If you cancel later or don't show up, there's no refund, except in case of illness or death of the participant, with a certificate.

You can ask to move your Rome cooking class up to 24 hours before it starts, subject to availability: just write to our staff. You can also switch to another class: if it costs more you pay the difference, if it costs less the difference isn't refunded. If you add people, you pay the difference. If someone can no longer come, the places removed are refunded only with more than 30 days' notice for private classes or 14 for shared ones: our staff will tell you how much.

On the website you pay by card and with the other methods you see at checkout. Bank transfer, Klarna, Scalapay, bitcoin and other methods are available for every booking, including paying in installments: just ask our staff. The receipt is sent to you automatically when you pay; for an invoice, including one for a company, ask our staff after payment.

We can handle allergies, except severe ones: tell our staff before you book, so they can confirm what's possible. If you only tell us afterwards, we can't guarantee anything and the booking isn't refunded. Our kitchen uses nuts, gluten, eggs, milk and sesame, so cross-contamination is possible. For people with celiac disease there are two private gluten-free classes, pasta and tiramisù or pizza and gelato, in a non-certified environment.

Yes. For vegetarians we leave out the meat in every class, shared ones included, except the carbonara class. We also leave out pork everywhere except in the carbonara class: in shared classes we leave it out just for you, while the others use it. For vegans we run private classes on request, with vegan versions of pasta, tiramisù, gelato and pizza: write to our staff before you book.

Yes: kids cook from age 6, while children under 6 can stay in the class with an adult, without cooking. If someone would like to come along without cooking, talk to our staff first. In shared classes children pay the same as adults; for families we recommend private classes. From 14 to 17, a responsible adult is required; the Spritz and Spaghetti class and the wine tastings are for ages 18 and up.

Just arrive at the start time of your cooking experience in Rome. If you're running late or get lost, let us know as soon as you can: that day you can reach us by phone, on WhatsApp or by email, using the contacts on our website. After 15 minutes the class starts without you, and if you're more than 30 minutes late the booking is considered cancelled. In private classes, if you let us know, we do our best to accommodate you.

We'll let you know in good time and look for another date for your cooking class in Rome. If you can't make another date, we refund everything you paid. If you end up being the only person booked in a shared class, we'll try to move you; if that's not possible we'll refund you, or our staff may decide to run the class anyway.

If a participant gets sick, or in case of death, with a medical or death certificate we refund you in full, even a few days before the class. For unexpected events like delayed flights, we recommend travel insurance when you add a cooking class in Rome to your trip. For strikes or rain we don't give refunds, but we're flexible about moving your booking to another date: write to our staff.

Of course, no experience needed. You do the hands-on work yourself, on your own or in pairs depending on the step, and our chef, who is Italian and qualified, guides you from start to finish and gives the dishes the final touch. This isn't MasterChef: you learn and have fun, with no competition. If standing for a long time is hard for you, there's a stool for everyone.

We're on the ground floor, with a shop window on the street, a historic green door and our logo on the glass. If you're leaving the city on the day of your Rome cooking class, feel free to bring your luggage: we keep it in a supervised area. Guide dogs are welcome in all classes, shared ones included. Unfortunately the school has architectural barriers and isn't suitable for wheelchair users.

Yes. You can book on the website for someone else, mentioning it in the note at the end of the booking, or go through our staff. Gift vouchers, for now, are only available through our staff. And if you can no longer come, you can pass your place on to someone else.

After payment you'll get a confirmation email with your ticket attached as a PDF. If it doesn't arrive, even if your card shows the charge, message us in the chat or write to our staff. If your card was charged twice, one of the two payments is refunded to you. Refunds arrive within 5-10 business days.

Cooking Classes in Rome

Our shared classes run in small groups: sometimes it's just the two of you, a few more in high season. The more participants there are, the more chefs look after you, so everyone gets the right attention.

Yes: in our shared cooking classes in Rome for tourists you can book just one place and cook in a small group with other travelers, in English. At the end of the class everyone sits down at the table with what they've made. You'll see the dates with free places in each class's booking calendar.

It depends on what you want to learn: fresh pasta and tiramisù, carbonara with cacio e pepe and amatriciana, pizza and gelato, the gelato class, Spritz and Spaghetti, or the Campo de' Fiori market tour with the class. The shortest is gelato, about an hour and a half; the longest is the market tour with the class, about four hours. They're all hands-on, and each one also has its own private version.

If you only want dessert, there's the gelato class. If you'd like savory dishes too, choose fresh pasta and tiramisù or pizza and gelato. In all of them you make the dessert yourself, from scratch, with the chef beside you, and then you eat it at the table with the others.

Spritz and Spaghetti: you make an Aperol Spritz with the chef, then the fresh pasta dough, two long pasta shapes and two sauces, and you finish at the table. Like all our shared cooking classes in Rome for tourists, it's taught in English. It's adults only: you need to be 18 or over to join.

Yes, the school is at Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center: 2 minutes' walk from Piazza Venezia, 5 from the Colosseum, 10 from Campo de' Fiori and the Pantheon. We're on the ground floor, with a shop window on the street, the historic green door and our logo on the glass. Only the market tour starts from Campo de' Fiori.

The carbonara class: you make fresh pasta by hand, for example tonnarelli, and in this cooking class Rome's three classic sauces are on the menu: carbonara, cacio e pepe and amatriciana. If you'd also like to shop like a Roman, there's the Campo de' Fiori market tour with a cooking class, using seasonal ingredients: it doesn't run on Sundays, when the market is closed, or in the afternoon.

Fresh pasta and tiramisù, pizza and gelato and the gelato class are suitable for vegetarians. In the other classes, if a sauce has meat, we leave it out for you, except in the carbonara class: there guanciale is the heart of the dishes and it stays. Let us know when you book.

You can join all our shared cooking classes in Rome for tourists except Spritz and Spaghetti, which is for ages 18 and up. Kids cook from age 6, and in shared classes children pay the same as adults. With kids, though, we recommend a private class or our family classes.

Yes: if there's space, you can book for the same day too, from the class's booking calendar. If you're short on time, the best cooking class in Rome for you is gelato, which lasts about an hour and a half, or carbonara, about two hours. And if you're leaving right after, we'll keep your luggage in a supervised area.

Corporate Cooking Events in Rome

Yes: team building, client dinners and large groups, in our kitchen at Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center. You cook together with the chef and then sit down to eat what you've made. Every event is arranged on request, with a quote based on headcount, dates and dietary needs.

At our company cooking events, the way we run the class and welcome guests changes depending on why you're coming. If needed, we can set up your company display stands and a projector for presentations. Tell us about the occasion when you ask for a quote.

They're three private formats with the same foundation: one menu for everyone and the room closed to the public. In team building, colleagues cook side by side, each making their own portion; the corporate class starts from a menu agreed before the date; the large-group format welcomes up to 100 people with a single booking.

In corporate cooking classes the group chooses a single menu from our classes, for example fresh pasta and tiramisù, pizza and gelato or carbonara: the menu sets the length and the price per person. The menus are already defined, but we take requests on preferences; for bigger changes, ask our staff for a tailor-made class. For anyone who doesn't drink, there are soft drinks.

The total has two parts: the fee that closes the room to the public, and the per-person menu multiplied by the number of guests. You see the full amount in the booking calendar before you confirm. For dates, numbers or special requests, ask our staff directly for a quote. Let us know the final number of guests as soon as possible.

Yes. When you pay, you get the receipt automatically right away; for an invoice in the company's name, ask our staff after payment.

Yes. For company cooking events, on the website you pay by card and with the methods you see at checkout. Bank transfer, Klarna, Scalapay, bitcoin and other methods are available for every booking, in installments too: just ask our staff.

Tell us about dietary needs before the date, so the kitchen can prepare. With a celiac guest, the whole group chooses one of the two gluten-free menus, for up to 30 people; for larger groups, our staff will help you. The kitchen isn't certified gluten-free. Pork is left out of every menu except carbonara.

Our corporate cooking events in Rome are held in Italian, English or Spanish, whichever the group prefers. Let us know when you book or when you ask for a quote.

Yes. Besides our school, for a company cooking event we're equipped to come to you, for example at a hotel or a villa. These requests go through our staff, who will work out the details with you.

Family Cooking Classes in Rome

Kids cook from age 6 and up. Younger children can stay in the class with an accompanying adult, even a grandparent or an uncle, but without cooking. The chef guides you throughout the class.

In the cooking class in Rome for families the room is all yours: the total is the private room fee plus the per-person menu. You see the full amount in the booking calendar before you pay. If someone would like to come along without cooking, talk to our staff first. In shared classes, on the other hand, children pay the regular price.

Yes, and they're always private: the room is just for your family. In our Rome cooking class for families, parents and children cook at the same table; in the kids' class, for ages 6 to 13, it's the kids who cook, and an adult stays in the room for the whole class. The class is in English, or in Italian or Spanish if you ask when you book.

Yes: our family classes are private and can be booked for two people too. The room is all yours and the chef guides you throughout the class. Kids cook from age 6.

A child under 6 stays in the class with an adult, without cooking: talk to our staff about it first. We have room for strollers and two high chairs, but no changing table. With a little one in tow, a short class is best: the gelato menu is the shortest, about an hour and a half.

From age 6, kids can also take part in shared classes, where they pay the regular price. For a cooking class in Rome with kids, though, we recommend a private class: the room is all yours, the pace is designed for them and there's no shared-class schedule to keep up with.

Choose between the family class, where you all cook together, and the kids' class, where the little ones cook. Then in the booking calendar choose the menu, date and number of people: you see the total before you pay. For a day or time outside the calendar, write to our staff.

Yes: if tiramisù doesn't win the little ones over, choose a menu with gelato, like pizza and gelato or the gelato class. There's one menu for the whole family, chosen when you book.

In private classes, like the family ones, yes, as long as an adult comes along and looks after them. The school, however, has architectural barriers and isn't suitable for wheelchair users. Write to our staff before you book: they'll tell you what's possible.

No: you choose a single menu per booking, the same for everyone, in the family class as in the kids' class. Anyone who doesn't eat meat or pork gets their own version without it, except in the carbonara menu. If someone in the family has celiac disease, you all choose one of the two gluten-free menus.

Food Tours in Rome

The food tour is made up of traditional Roman specialties, for example supplì and pizza al taglio, which contain gluten: for people with celiac disease we can't promise gluten-free tastings, but there are our private gluten-free cooking classes. Vegetarians will be fine; for vegans, on the other hand, we can't guarantee anything. For other needs, write to our staff before you book.

Right now, among our Rome food experiences, there's just one food tour, and it winds through Trastevere, the most characterful neighborhood in Rome, with a local guide: street food, historic shops and stories of the neighborhood. You'll find the duration, tastings and meeting point on the tour's page.

In light rain the tour goes ahead. In heavy rain, though, it doesn't run: we let you know by email, phone or WhatsApp and move it to another date, subject to availability. So on the day of the tour, keep an eye on your email and phone.

It depends on what you're looking for. The Rome food tasting tour is a walk through Trastevere with a guide, tasting as you go, without cooking. In the cooking classes, on the other hand, you do the hands-on work yourself and then eat what you've made at the table.

Yes: on the Trastevere food tour wine is included, with an aperitivo of wines, cheeses and cured meats along the way, served in glasses in tasting-size pours. If you're mostly interested in wine, take a look at our wine tastings in the center of Rome.

Yes: the Trastevere food tour is shared, so you can book for just one person and join a small group with a local guide. You'll see the available dates in the tour's booking calendar.

Like all our Rome food experiences, it's organized by the team behind our cooking classes at Piazza Margana 22. You're accompanied by a local food guide who, at every stop, tells you what you're tasting and where it comes from. The meeting point is a precise spot, shown on the tour page, so it's easy to find your guide.

Yes, the shared tour is in English, with a local guide. You go in small groups, with one guide for the whole route.

Yes: among our Rome food experiences there's the Campo de' Fiori market tour with a cooking class. You shop with the chef, with a few tastings, then at Piazza Margana 22 you cook two main dishes and a dessert, while our staff prepares the starter: about four hours in all. It doesn't run on Sundays, when the market is closed, or in the afternoon. It's also available as a private class.

You can leave it through the payment link or give it directly to our staff.

Gluten Free Cooking Class Rome

No: in classes with gluten we can't prepare anything gluten free for you, not even a single portion. For you, we have two Rome gluten free cooking classes: gluten free pasta and tiramisù, or gluten free pizza and gelato. Both are private, just for you and the people who come with you.

Yes: a few minutes after your Rome gluten free cooking class, you'll get an automatic email with links to the recipes for the gluten free version you made, covering everything you did in class. If you have questions or want a tip for making them again at home, message us in the chat or write to our staff.

In our Rome gluten free cooking classes we use dedicated ingredients and take care at every step. Our kitchen, however, isn't certified gluten free, and flours and grains containing gluten are also used there, so we can't completely rule out cross-contamination. If you have any doubts, write to our staff before you book.

The right way is to book one of the two private Rome gluten free cooking classes for the whole group: you all cook the same gluten free recipe, pasta and tiramisù or pizza and gelato. In classes with gluten we don't prepare gluten free portions. The gluten free menu for the whole group works for up to 30 people; for a larger group, write to our staff.

Private only: the kitchen is reserved for you and the people who come with you, and you can book even if you're on your own. You choose the language: Italian, English or Spanish. There's no shared gluten free class at the moment.

You can choose between two classes: gluten free fresh pasta and tiramisù, about three hours, or gluten free pizza and homemade gelato, about two and a half hours. In both you make everything from scratch with the chef, then you sit down at the table with what you've cooked, with wine and espresso included.

No, the notes aren't enough: book one of the two Rome gluten free cooking classes directly from the calendar on its page. Regular classes don't have a gluten free option to add. If you also have other allergies or intolerances, let us know before you book.

Yes: the two gluten free classes are private, so the kitchen is just for your family. Kids cook from age 6; younger children can stay in the class with an adult, without cooking. If someone would like to come along without cooking, talk to our staff first.

The price depends on the menu you choose. You'll see it in the booking calendar of each of the two gluten free cooking classes, before you pay.

Tell our staff about them before you book your Rome gluten free cooking class: they'll tell you what adjustments are possible, for example for lactose. Unfortunately we can't accommodate severe food allergies with a risk of anaphylactic shock, because we can't rule out cross-contamination in the kitchen.

Private Cooking Classes in Rome

Yes, we organize experiences for lots of occasions, and we work with partners who can also take care of photos and planning. Tell us what you have in mind: our staff will look at your request with you and confirm availability and details. You can't bring your own cake or wine, though.

The price depends on the menu you choose, and you'll see it in the booking calendar of each private class, before you pay. For a tailor-made class, write to our staff with your request. Besides card, you can pay by bank transfer, Klarna, Scalapay, bitcoin and other methods, in installments too: just ask our staff.

The menus of our private cooking classes in Rome are the same as our regular classes, and we're happy to accommodate the group's preferences. If you want different dishes or to combine two classes, ask our staff for a tailor-made class: they'll tell you what's possible. For tailor-made menus, you then ask our staff for the recipes by email. We don't run multi-lesson programs, though.

Yes, you can ask: besides the times in the calendar, private classes can also be scheduled outside the calendar. Write to our staff with the day and time you'd like and they'll confirm whether it's possible. You can even book a year in advance.

In a private class the kitchen is reserved exclusively for your group, you choose the language between Italian, English and Spanish, and you can ask for times outside the calendar. There's also more flexibility on pace, preferences and late arrivals. In a shared class, on the other hand, you cook in English with other travelers, in small groups. Otherwise, the dishes and what's included are the same as in the shared class with the same name.

Yes, a private class can be booked even for one or two people: the kitchen and the chef are just for you, at the pace you prefer. If you're a larger group, have a look at our pages for families, companies and students too.

Meat and pork can be left out in every class except the carbonara one, where pork is the heart of the dish. For vegans the class is private, on direct request to our staff: vegan pasta, pizza, tiramisù and gelato are possible, an elaborate vegan menu isn't. For people with celiac disease there are the two private gluten-free classes.

Yes, it's a Rome cooking class with wine included: white and red, plus water, soft drinks and an espresso, if you'd like one. If you'd like a bottle from our cellar, you can choose one at an extra cost. In the Spritz and Spaghetti class there's also Aperol Spritz, for ages 18 and up.

Yes, a private cooking class in Rome can also take place outside our school, for example in a home, a villa or a hotel: we're equipped to do it. Write to our staff with where and when you'd like the class, and they'll tell you how to arrange it.

Yes, pets are allowed in our private cooking classes in Rome; after the class the space is sanitized. Guide dogs are welcome in all classes, shared ones included.

Student Group Cooking Classes in Rome

Yes, we welcome schools, university groups and study abroad programs in our kitchen at Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center. The class is in English, or in Italian or Spanish if the group asks when booking. Every student really cooks with their own hands.

Yes, we host groups of up to 100 people with a single booking, and the room is reserved just for you. Let us know the final number of participants as soon as possible. If your group is even bigger, write to our staff before booking instead of splitting it up yourself.

The school workshop is designed for school trips, with the whole class and the teachers, and with no wine on the table if the students are minors. The university class is for university groups, Erasmus and study abroad programs, and anyone 18 or over can also choose the menu with Aperol Spritz. Both are private, with one menu for the group.

If your Rome cooking class for students involves a group of minors, tell us when you book: the table is set without wine and there are soft drinks. Students aged 14 to 17 can only take part if an adult takes responsibility for them, for example a teacher. The Spritz and Spaghetti menu is for adults only.

The group chooses a single menu from our classes, for example fresh pasta and tiramisù, pizza and gelato or carbonara. It's an educational, hands-on Rome cooking class for students from start to finish, and then everyone eats together what they've cooked.

Yes: private classes can also take place outside our premises, and the formats for schools and universities are private. We're equipped to do it: write to our staff with the place, the date and the number of students.

Yes, even a year ahead. You can see the open time slots in the booking calendar; for a time that isn't in the calendar, write to our staff, because the formats for schools and universities are private.

Yes. When you pay, you automatically get a receipt right away; you can ask our staff for the invoice after payment. On the website you pay by card and with the methods you see at checkout; for a bank transfer, Klarna, Scalapay, bitcoin and other methods, in installments too, just ask our staff.

Write to our staff with the number of participants, the dates you're interested in and your budget: every group gets a tailor-made proposal. If you'd rather book the Rome cooking class for students yourself, the calendar shows the total for the chosen menu and the exact number of participants before you pay.

No, we don't issue certificates of attendance: ours are short lessons and events. The students keep the recipes, which arrive in an automatic email a few minutes after the lesson; for a custom menu, ask our staff for them.

Wine Tasting in Rome

We have two. In the wine tasting with food pairing, a wine expert guides you through Italian wines paired with local specialties. In the wine tasting with cooking class, you cook a Roman menu with the chef and learn to pair it with the right wines. The bites and the dishes change at every session. If you only want to taste, choose the first; if you want to cook too, the second.

No, there's no traveling: the tasting takes place at our school at Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center, a 2-minute walk from Piazza Venezia. You'll find us on the ground floor, with a street-front window, the historic green door and our logo on the glass.

In the wine tasting with food pairing, each wine is tasted with local specialties chosen to go with it: the bites change at every session, and our staff will confirm what we'll serve you on your day. If you're after wine, cheese and cured meats specifically, there's an aperitivo like that on the Trastevere food tour.

At our wine tastings, the wines are served in tasting glasses, with no separate bottles from the cellar. If you'd like to buy something to take home, ask our staff.

During our tasting, the wine is served in glasses, in amounts meant for tasting and for going with the pairings. We want you to enjoy a pleasant time, always drinking responsibly.

No, our wine tastings are only for ages 18 and over, including the one with a cooking class. If you're traveling with kids, have a look at our family cooking classes.

In shared sessions, the guide speaks English. You'll be in a small group with other travelers, and you can book for just one person too. In the wine tasting with cooking class, a chef and a wine expert look after you.

It depends on the need. Vegetarians will be fine, while for vegans we can't guarantee anything. If you don't eat pork, we leave it out of your bites and our staff will confirm what we'll serve you. For celiacs, we can't promise gluten-free bites: there are two private gluten-free classes, in a setting that isn't certified gluten-free. Allergies must be mentioned before booking; with severe allergies, we can't accept the booking.

Yes: you can book it on the website for someone else, mentioning it in the note at the end of the booking, or go through our staff. For now, gift vouchers are only available through our staff. Remember that the person receiving it must be at least 18.

Yes: you book two spots and taste in a small group with other wine lovers, at our school at Piazza Margana 22, in the historic center. If you'd like a tasting just for the two of you, it can also be private: just ask our staff.

Carbonara Cooking Class in Rome: Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana, Fresh Pasta

Yes: the recipes cover everything you make in class, including the fresh pasta dough. A few minutes after the lesson, you'll get an automatic email with links to the recipes on our blog. If the email doesn't arrive, message us in the chat or write to our staff. You can also take notes during the lesson.

Yes: in this Rome pasta cooking class you make fresh pasta dough by hand, for example Roman tonnarelli, and then Rome's three classic sauces: carbonara, cacio e pepe and amatriciana. The chef explains timing, texture and the balance of ingredients, the details that make a carbonara come together properly.

It lasts up to two hours, including the meal at the table with the dishes you've cooked. You can see the start time in the booking calendar. Timings are approximate: we never rush anyone who stays to chat.

No, this Rome pasta cooking class is all about Roman pastas: handmade fresh pasta with carbonara, cacio e pepe and amatriciana. A filled pasta, for example, is made in the fresh pasta and tiramisù class. For a different menu, you can ask our staff for a tailor-made private class.

No: guanciale is the heart of carbonara and amatriciana, and the carbonara class is the only one where we don't leave it out. If you don't eat pork or meat, we recommend the fresh pasta and tiramisù class: it's suitable for vegetarians, and there pork is easily left out.

Yes, it's a shared class: you can book just for yourself and cook in a small group with other travelers. At the end, everyone eats together at the table. You can see the dates with available spots in the booking calendar on this page.

The shared class is taught in English, but if you find it hard to follow, we'll help you and make the steps clearer. If you'd prefer Italian or Spanish, there's the private carbonara class, just for your group.

No, the carbonara class uses gluten and has no gluten-free version, not even for a single portion. For celiacs, there's the private gluten-free pasta and tiramisù class. Our kitchen is not certified gluten-free.

Water, white and red wine, soft drinks and, if you'd like one, an espresso are included. You drink before and during the meal, sensibly, while you eat the dishes you've cooked at the table.

Yes, the school is at Piazza Margana 22, a 5-minute walk from the Colosseum and 2 minutes from Piazza Venezia. We're on the ground floor, with a street-front window and the historic green door with the logo on the glass. Just arrive at the start time: if you're more than 15 minutes late, the class starts without you.

Corporate Cooking Class in Rome: One Menu Agreed in Advance

Your group chooses a single menu, agreed before the date, and during your time slot the room at Piazza Margana 22 is closed to the public. Everyone really cooks, and at the end you all sit down together to eat what you've made.

The length depends on the menu you choose: for example, gelato takes about an hour and a half, carbonara about two hours, and fresh pasta and tiramisù about three hours. You'll see the open time slots for your date in the booking panel.

If the email doesn't arrive, or you have questions about making gelato again at home, message us in the chat or write to our staff: we're happy to help.

About an hour and a half: it's one of our shortest experiences. That's an approximate time, and if you stay to chat with the chef, we won't rush you.

Let our staff know before you book: they'll tell you what adjustments are possible in this class. Many gelato recipes contain lactose, so a lactose-free version has to be agreed in advance. If you have a milk allergy, on the other hand, always contact our staff: lactose-free products still contain milk proteins.

We advise against eating the gelato during pregnancy, so think it over carefully before booking. If you have questions about the ingredients, for example milk or eggs, write to our staff before you book.

Write to our staff before booking. Our fresh pasta is usually made with eggs, and the tiramisù contains them too: an egg-free alternative has to be assessed and confirmed in advance. Eggs are used in the kitchen, so we can't rule out contamination.

Kids Cooking Class in Rome: Hands-On Pizza, Pasta or Gelato

They really cook, from the very first minute. In our kids cooking class in Rome, they're the ones stretching the pizza, rolling out the fresh pasta or making the gelato, with the chef beside them at every step. Ingredients and equipment are included, and at the end everyone eats what the kids made.

From 14 to 17, teens can take part only if an adult takes responsibility for them: a parent, a relative or even an adult friend. On their own, no.

If anyone comes along without cooking, including the adult who stays in the room, talk to our staff first, when you book: they'll tell you what's possible. Little brothers and sisters under 6 can stay in the class without cooking, together with an adult.

You choose one menu per booking: handmade pizza, fresh pasta or gelato. Each menu is one of our real classes, with its own recipes and length: for example, the kids gelato class takes about an hour and a half, and the pizza one about two and a half hours. The aperitivo menu isn't one of them.

Yes: it's a private class, so the room at Piazza Margana 22 is all yours, and the day and time are agreed when you book, even outside our calendar. You can book as much as a year in advance.

By default, the kids cooking class in Rome is taught in English. Since it's a private class, it can be held in Italian or Spanish: just ask when you book.

We don't serve alcohol to children: they have water and soft drinks, and in summer homemade lemonade too. Wine and espresso are for adults only.

In the kids cooking class in Rome, we can't promise a gluten-free portion in the menus made with regular flour. For a child with celiac disease there are our two gluten-free private classes: pasta and tiramisù, and pizza and gelato. Our kitchen is not a certified gluten-free environment: write to our staff before you book and they'll tell you what's possible.

For a Rome cooking class with kids, write to us before you book: allergies must always be shared in advance, and our staff will check whether your child can take part. In our kitchen we use eggs, milk, nuts, sesame and flours, so cross-contamination can't be ruled out. With severe allergies, unfortunately, we can't accept the booking.

Yes, we organize experiences for different occasions, parties included. Tell our staff what you have in mind for the kids cooking class in Rome: we'll look at your request together and confirm availability and details. However, you can't bring your own cake or wine.

Up to 100 people with a single booking, all together at Piazza Margana 22. If your group is even bigger, write to our staff before you book, rather than splitting it up yourself.

Yes, the number of chefs grows with the number of guests, and the chefs move between the tables to follow everyone. Each person makes their own full portion, alone or in pairs depending on the step. At the end you sit down and eat what the group has cooked.

The price has two parts: a fee to reserve the room for your group, and the per-person price of the menu you choose, multiplied by the number of guests. You'll see the total in the booking panel before you confirm. For any question about your group's price, to pay by bank transfer or another method, including in installments, or to get an invoice, write to our staff.

The group pays the agreed total. If people are added, you only pay the difference for the extra spots. Send our staff your final number of participants as soon as possible, and the same goes for any change: write to us as soon as you know.

The menu sets the length, the per-person price and the number of spots, and you see it all before you confirm.

A regular menu can't be made gluten-free, not even for one portion. With a guest who has celiac disease, the whole group chooses one of the two gluten-free menus, pasta and tiramisù or pizza and gelato, available for up to 30 guests; for a bigger group, our staff can help you organize the event. Our kitchen is not certified gluten-free.

Dietary needs are collected before the date, so the kitchen can prepare instead of improvising. Allergies must be flagged before you book. We don't accept guests with severe food allergies, because we can't rule out cross-contamination in the kitchen.

School Cooking Class in Rome: One Menu for the Whole Class

Yes: it's a hands-on workshop for your trip, with the whole class in a reserved room at Piazza Margana 22. Every student really cooks, and at the end everyone eats together what they've made. With a single booking you can be up to 100 people; for bigger groups, write to our staff.

By default it's held in English. Since it's a private format, you can ask for it in Italian or Spanish when you book.

Teachers cook with the class and count as participants, so they're included in the total. If a chaperone wants to come along without cooking, talk to our staff first. On the website you pay by card and with the methods shown at checkout; for bank transfer, other methods or an invoice, write to our staff.

Cooking starts from age 6. Minors always take part with their teachers or a responsible adult, never on their own. When you book, let us know the group is made up of minors: the table will be set without wine.

We're at Piazza Margana 22, on the ground floor: a shop window onto the street, a historic green door and our logo on the glass. If you're running late, let us know as soon as you can, by phone, email or WhatsApp: in private classes we try to accommodate you.

Yes: a few minutes after the lesson an automatic email arrives with links to the recipes on our blog, so the students can make the dishes again at home. They can also take notes during the lesson.

Feel free to bring them: we have a supervised space where they can stay during the workshop.

Yes: colleagues cook the same menu side by side, in a room reserved just for your group at Piazza Margana 22. With a single booking you can be up to 100 people; if there are more of you, write to our staff before you book.

The group chooses a single menu from our classes: fresh pasta and tiramisù, pizza and gelato, Roman carbonara, Spritz and Spaghetti, or gelato. The menu sets the length, the per-person price and the number of spots, and everything appears in the booking panel before you confirm.

It depends on the menu: for example, gelato takes about an hour and a half, carbonara about two hours, and pasta and tiramisù about three hours. So you can schedule it before dinner or in the middle of the day: you'll see the open time slots for your date in the booking panel.

Because everyone makes their own full portion: there's no audience and no back row to watch from. A dish only reaches the table if the person making it sees it through. At the end you sit down together and eat what the team has cooked.

It's not a competition: this isn't MasterChef, the goal is to learn and have fun together. It also works for people who've never cooked, because the chef follows everyone the whole time and gives the dishes the finishing touch.

Dietary needs must be shared before the date. For a vegan guest we can make, for example, vegan pasta, tiramisù, gelato or pizza, on request to our staff; we don't do elaborate vegan menus, though. For lactose, let us know before you book: our staff will confirm which adjustments are possible.

Yes, with the Spritz and Spaghetti menu: you make pasta by hand and there's an Aperol Spritz too. It's a menu for guests 18 and over only, and for anyone who doesn't drink alcohol there are soft drinks.

Yes, private classes allow more freedom: feel free to photograph yourselves, your colleagues and your dishes. If you'd like to film the chefs or the staff, ask for their consent first.
