Private kids cooking class in Rome, hands-on

In this private kids cooking class in Rome the child is the one cooking. Each menu is hands-on from the start: the kids stretch pizza dough, roll fresh pasta or prepare gelato, with the chef beside them at every step. One menu is chosen per booking, and that menu is a real class: it brings its own recipes, its own length and its own price per person. Four menus can be booked in this format; the one built around aperitivo is not among them. The container adds the private part, so the room at Piazza Margana 22, 00186 Rome belongs to your group and there is no shared class timetable to keep up with. Ingredients and equipment are included. Wine is listed among the inclusions of every menu and is poured for the adults; no alcohol is served to the kids. The class runs in English by default and, being a private format, can be led in Italian or Spanish when you ask at booking.

Sample menu:

Although we provide an example of how the menu might look during this cooking class in Rome, some ingredients may vary and are subject to seasonal availability. Unless otherwise specified, all ingredients may contain gluten, lactose, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and sulfites in the wines served.

Amazing experience! We did a private class for our honeymoon and it was THE highlight of our whole trip! Francesca taught us how to make a tonnarelli pesto and a ravioli with red sauce. She was a great teacher and made it so easy and fun. 10/10 would recommend!

We have never done a cooking class and this one was phenomenal!! Francesca was so much fun and knowledgeable. We made 2 pasta dishes and tiramisu. Absolutely delicious! It was kind of nice as it was just us and another couple so had plenty of time to ask questions and was able to get to know her. Would 100% recommendation!!

Frequently Asked Questions

They really cook, from the very first minute. In our kids cooking class in Rome, they're the ones stretching the pizza, rolling out the fresh pasta or making the gelato, with the chef beside them at every step. Ingredients and equipment are included, and at the end everyone eats what the kids made.

From 14 to 17, teens can take part only if an adult takes responsibility for them: a parent, a relative or even an adult friend. On their own, no.

Yes: an adult stays in the room with the children for the whole class. If anyone comes along without cooking, including the adult who stays in the room, talk to our staff first, when you book: they'll tell you what's possible. Little brothers and sisters under 6 can stay in the class without cooking, together with an adult.

You choose one menu per booking: handmade pizza, fresh pasta or gelato. Each menu is one of our real classes, with its own recipes and length: for example, the kids gelato class takes about an hour and a half, and the pizza one about two and a half hours. The aperitivo menu isn't one of them.

Yes: it's a private class, so the room at Piazza Margana 22 is all yours, and the day and time are agreed when you book, even outside our calendar. You can book as much as a year in advance.

By default, the kids cooking class in Rome is taught in English. Since it's a private class, it can be held in Italian or Spanish: just ask when you book.

We don't serve alcohol to children: they have water and soft drinks, and in summer homemade lemonade too. Wine and espresso are for adults only.

In the kids cooking class in Rome, we can't promise a gluten-free portion in the menus made with regular flour. For a child with celiac disease there are our two gluten-free private classes: pasta and tiramisù, and pizza and gelato. Our kitchen is not a certified gluten-free environment: write to our staff before you book and they'll tell you what's possible.

For a Rome cooking class with kids, write to us before you book: allergies must always be shared in advance, and our staff will check whether your child can take part. In our kitchen we use eggs, milk, nuts, sesame and flours, so cross-contamination can't be ruled out. With severe allergies, unfortunately, we can't accept the booking.

Yes, we organize experiences for different occasions, parties included. Tell our staff what you have in mind for the kids cooking class in Rome: we'll look at your request together and confirm availability and details. However, you can't bring your own cake or wine.
