Private family cooking class in Rome, one menu

A private family cooking class in Rome works on one menu per booking. You pick that menu when you book, and the menu is one of our real classes: it carries its own recipes, its own length and its own price per person. The container adds the private part, so the room at Piazza Margana 22, 00186 Rome is yours alone and parents cook at the same table as the youngest of the group. Every menu here is hands-on from the first minute: fresh pasta rolled by hand, pizza stretched and baked, Roman sauces built in the pan, gelato prepared and tasted. Wine is listed among the inclusions of each menu and is poured for the adults at the table, alongside water and espresso. The class runs in English by default. Because this is a private format, it can be led in Italian or Spanish when you say so at booking. The total is the private fee plus the chosen menu per person, and the booking panel shows it in full before payment.

Although we provide an example of how the menu might look during this cooking class in Rome, some ingredients may vary and are subject to seasonal availability. Unless otherwise specified, all ingredients may contain gluten, lactose, peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, and sulfites in the wines served.

Amazing experience! We did a private class for our honeymoon and it was THE highlight of our whole trip! Francesca taught us how to make a tonnarelli pesto and a ravioli with red sauce. She was a great teacher and made it so easy and fun. 10/10 would recommend!

We have never done a cooking class and this one was phenomenal!! Francesca was so much fun and knowledgeable. We made 2 pasta dishes and tiramisu. Absolutely delicious! It was kind of nice as it was just us and another couple so had plenty of time to ask questions and was able to get to know her. Would 100% recommendation!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. In this private cooking class in Rome for families, the room at Piazza Margana 22 is just for you and your family, and adults and kids cook at the same table. Cooking starts from age 6; younger children can stay in the class without cooking, with an adult looking after them, even a grandparent or an uncle.

When you book, you choose a single menu for the whole family from our classes: for example, fresh pasta rolled out by hand, pizza stretched and baked, Roman sauces or gelato. The menus are already set, but you can tell us your preferences. For a fully custom menu, ask our staff for a tailor-made class.

The total is a fee to have the room just for you plus the per-person price of the menu you choose: the booking panel shows you the full amount before you pay. It includes the lesson, the meal with what you cook, water, espresso, and wine for the adults. If someone wants to be there with you without cooking, talk to our staff first.

Yes, it's a private class: you choose the day and time, even outside our calendar, based on availability. You can book as much as a year ahead, or on the same day if there's space. The lesson is in English by default, but it can be in Italian or Spanish if you say so when you book.

It depends on the menu you choose: from about an hour and a half for gelato to about three hours for pasta and tiramisù. These times are approximate: if you stay at the table chatting, nobody will rush you.

Tell us before you book: our staff will confirm which adjustments are possible. Mozzarella, mascarpone and many gelato flavors contain lactose, and fresh pasta and tiramisù also contain eggs: alternatives must be agreed in advance. Milk and eggs are used in our kitchen, so cross-contamination is possible.

No problem: in our Rome cooking class for families we leave out meat and pork for anyone who doesn't eat them, in every menu except the carbonara class, where pork is the heart of the dish. Just let us know when you book.

In that case, in the private family class the whole group chooses one of our two gluten-free menus: pasta and tiramisù, or pizza and gelato. With the other menus we can't promise gluten-free dishes, not even a single portion. Please remember that our kitchen is not a certified gluten-free environment.

Yes, our cooking class in Rome for families can also take place outside our school, for example in a house, a villa or a hotel: we're equipped to do it. Write to our staff with the details and we'll tell you how to organize it.

Yes. A few minutes after the lesson you'll get an automatic email with links to the recipes on our blog. If you chose a custom menu, though, you can ask our staff for the recipes by email.
